#622 TEXAS TECH (-11) over West Virginia at 1 PM EST
In a bad mood off that three-point road loss at TCU, Texas Tech will return home and have no trouble extending the margin against West Virginia. The Mountaineers enter this matchup off a huge conference home win over the Bearcats and this will be a difficult encore for head coach Darian DeVries and his men.
Even though the Red Raiders won the last meeting between these two teams on the road by the final of 81-70 back on March 2nd, 2024, their 10-18 SU and 11-17 ATS overall record in this series will keep them focused on the task at hand. Thankfully, in its own backyard, priced as an underdog or a favorite of -12 or less, Texas Tech has played well inking a solid 24-9 SU and 19-12 ATS mark in its last 33 tries. In this setting holding a team won/loss percentage of .730 or higher, skipper Grant McCasland and his crew improve to a rewarding 17-3 SU and 15-4 ATS. Also, at home hitting the hardwood off two or more games on the road, the Red Raiders have been at their financial best posting a proud 24-7 SU and 21-9 ATS tally provided they slip in without steam off a SU and ATS loss.
Off that 62-59 home win over Cincinnati, West Virginia will revert right back to its losing ways here. As it stands, the Mountaineers are on a feeble 25-35 SU and 27-33 ATS run in their last 60 games including a woeful 11-19 SU and ATS provided they are fighting a foe that arrives without momentum off a straight up loss. Also, in true road wars, Coach DeVries and his players have been atrocious posting a nasty 19-57 SU and 29-46-1 ATS record in their last 76 battles including a rough 13-41 SU and 18-35-1 ATS if they competed at home in their last contest. With those two parameters live and West Virginia facing a foe that owns a team won/loss percentage of .740 or higher, this technical situation falls to a pitiful 3-20 SU and 6-17 ATS.
Ranked 25th nationally and tops in the Big 12 in scoring averaging a stunning 81.8 points per game, the Red Raiders high-octane offensive attack will be too much for the Mountaineers to handle. Take Texas Tech. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
