TOM STRYKER’S FREE FOOTBALL SELECTION FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH
#318 COLORADO ST (-9) over Wyoming at 8 PM EST
The Rams apply to three different college football systems that boast lucrative marks of 82-41 ATS, 41-23 ATS, and 86-51 ATS and they will have no trouble extending the margin in this the 115th installment of the Border War. The Cowboys enter this rivalry game rested and off a 49-45 road win over the Lobos and this trip to Fort Collins will be a difficult one for head coach Jay Sawvel and his boys.
It certainly won’t take much for CSU to get up for this contest. In the last 15 meetings between these two programs, the Rams have struggled inking a 4-11 SU and 5-10 ATS record and has quietly dropped three straight. Thankfully, at home arriving with steam off a straight up win and facing an opponent that owns a team won/loss percentage less than .500, Colorado State holds a profitable 13-5 ATS record in its last 18 lined games. Also, in their own backyard in a payback mode and competing against a foe that holds a team won/loss percentage less than .400, head coach Jay Norvell and his crew own a solid 12-4 ATS tally.
Kudos to the ‘Boys for picking up a nice upset road win at New Mexico in their last battle. That straight up underdog victory actually works against Wyoming here. Since 1980, game 10 or later regular season guests that won straight up priced as an underdog of +7 or more in their last game hold a rough 91-125-5 ATS record. If our “play against” side is lined up against an opponent that arrives off a blowout victory of 10 points or more, this system crashes to a woeful 19-39-1 ATS including a ridiculous 5-26-1 ATS provided they are priced as a pup of +24.5 or less. That spells serious trouble for the Cowboys.
The Rams are going up against a Cowboys squad that can’t score (ranked 112th in the FBS averaging 21.6 ppg) and gives up a ton of points (ranked 107th in the FBS surrendering an average of 31.7 ppg). Even though four of the last five Border Wars have been decided by 10 or less, this one has blowout written all over it. Take Colorado State. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
