In a bad mood off last week’s 28-14 road loss at Georgia Southern, James Madison will have no trouble pounding Southern Miss in this Sun Belt Conference mismatch. The Golden Eagles limp into this contest on a woeful 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS run, and this will be another really tough spot for interim head coach Reed Stringer.
Since the start of the 2022 season, the Dukes have played outstanding football inking a proud 24-7 SU and 18-10 ATS record in their last 31 games. In this run tackling a foe that holds a team won/loss percentage of .400 or less, JMU improves to a healthy 12-0 SU and 7-2 ATS. Please note: Those 12 victories came by an average of 26.5 points per game. On a statistical note, head coach Bob Chesney and his crew are averaging 35.4 points and 412.6 total yards per game, and they will have no trouble steamrolling a Southern Miss stop unit that has allowed an average of 34.1 points and 424.4 total yards per game.
The Golden Eagles dismissed head coach Will Hall last Sunday and this team is in complete disarray right now. Southern Miss enters this contest on a stiff 3-15 SU and 4-12 ATS run including a nasty 0-10 SU and 2-8 ATS provided they check in without confidence off a SU and ATS loss. Even worse, when taking the field of battle without steam off two or more straight up blemishes, the Golden Eagles have been a poor source of revenue posting a pathetic 15-44 SU and 20-37 ATS record including a hideous 13-39 SU and 15-35 ATS provided this is not their last home game.
