TOM STRYKER’S FREE FOOTBALL SELECTION FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11TH
#121 MIAMI (OH) (-2) over Eastern Michigan at 2 PM EST on Saturday
Boasting a rough 1-4 SU record and, more important, an 0-1 SU mark in the MAC, Miami will travel to Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti and rock Eastern Michigan. The Eagles enter this contest on a 3-0 SU and 2-0 ATS run in their last three battles and head coach Chris Creighton and his boys will finally meet their match here.
Even though these two conference warriors haven’t crossed paths since 2021, the RedHawks have posted an 0-2 SU and ATS tally in the last two meetings and head coach Chuck Martin and his boys will be primed and ready for this battle. In MAC play, Miami has been at its best lately inking a reliable 42-18 SU and 38-22 ATS record in its last 60 games including an outstanding 15-3 SU and ATS provided the RedHawks own a team won/loss percentage less than .350. With those two parameters live and Miami busting in off a road war, this team trend explodes to a nearly perfect 12-1 SU and ATS. Additionally, since 2008, MAC road favorites running without rest and arriving off a straight up loss hold a profitable 73-42-2 ATS mark provided they are lined up against a conference foe. If our “play on” side holds a team won/loss percentage less than .500, this technical situation jets to a solid 41-17-2 ATS.
This is a terrible wagering spot for EMU. As a MAC host, the Eagles have struggled over the years inking a rough 38-59-2 ATS tally including a miserable 13-38-1 ATS provided they were on the road in their last game. With those two parameters in play and Eastern fighting a foe that holds a team won/loss percentage less than .700, this trend falls to a horrible 10-35-1 ATS. Additionally, in their own backyard competing against an opponent that arrives without steam off a straight up loss, Coach Creighton and his kids slip to a rough 11-20 ATS.
When coming off a straight up conference loss, the RedHawks have responded by posting an elite 15-1 SU and 14-2 ATS record in their next game. History repeats itself here. Take Miami. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
