TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASEBALL SELECTION FRIDAY, AUGUST 23RD
#113 SAN FRANCISCO (-7) over Las Vegas at 10 PM EST
With the Raiders devoting this game to those players closer to the bottom of the roster and quarterback’s Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell both on the shelf, the Silver and Black will have their hands full with the 49ers in this final preseason battle.
There are two solid team trends that support this investment. San Francisco owns a remarkable 29-16-1 ATS preseason record when checking in off the comforts of a home game including an outstanding 19-7-1 ATS if the Niners are competing on the road. Meanwhile, Las Vegas owns a rough 7-20 SU and 4-22-1 ATS mark when entering off a SU and ATS exhibition loss. There’s history, too. The 49ers own a profitable 18-7 SU and 17-7-1 ATS record in this preseason series (16-3 SU and 15-4 ATS priced as a favorite or an underdog of +2 or less) and will be looking for a little payback from last year’s 34-7 beating on this very same field.
Undrafted rookie quarterback Carter Bradley will get the start for Las Vegas (followed by Nathan Peterman), and he won’t be able to trade scores with San Francisco QB’s Joshua Dobbs and Brandon Allen. Both Dobbs and Allen are fighting for the No. 2 spot behind Brock Purdy, and they will be focused on putting points on the board. Take San Francisco. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
LEE’S $1,000 MLB HIGH ROLLER CLUB GAME OF THE YEAR
Counting Trey’s blemish on the Brew Crew yesterday, the TSPC is now on a 3-1 run in its last four and looks to get back on track with a release from Lee that will bring home the bacon. This diamond dandy comes with the ideal set, and it has the support of one strong 64-43 team trend that will help key this blowout victory.
