#660 KANSAS (+2′) over Cincinnati at 9:30 PM EST
On a 1-3 SU and ATS run and off the 30-point loss at Houston, no one will want Kansas especially since the Jayhawks will be without two of their top scorers in Kevin McCullar Jr. and Hunter Dickinson. That sounds like the perfect time to step in and grab the points with head coach Bill Self and Rock-Chalk-Jayhawk. Cincinnati spent a ton of energy coming back from a 16-point deficit in the second half to defeat West Virginia, and skipper Wes Miller and his men will be low on fuel here.
There isn’t much series history in this matchup. KU has faced UC twice since 1996 and won both games by margins of seven and five points, respectively. Thankfully, in the Big 12 tournament, the Jayhawks have been a force posting a proud 52-13 SU and 39-26 ATS record in their last 65 games. In this setting storming the court off a pointspread loss, Rock-Chalk improves to a powerful 25-1 SU and 21-5 ATS including a spotless 11-0 SU and ATS provided their opponent owns a team won/loss percentage less than .625.
On a mediocre 11-12 SU and ATS run in its last 23 games, Cincinnati hasn’t exactly been lighting things up on the hardwood. In that setting checking in with steam off a straight up victory, the Bearcats fall to a rough 4-7 SU and 3-8 ATS. Also, when priced as a favorite, UC has been a poor investment lately inking a dismal 5-13 ATS mark in its last 18 tries including a horrendous 0-9 ATS in its last nine provided they take the floor with steam off a straight up win.
Sure, the Jayhawks are undermanned. But Coach Self still has plenty of talent to work with and the Jayhawks will rally the troops and find a way to pull off this minor upset. Take Kansas. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
