TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASKETBALL SELECTION SATURDAY, MARCH 2ND

#620 WISCONSIN (-3) over Illinois at 1 PM EST
Off that four-point straight up road loss at Indiana and a string of eight consecutive pointspread blemishes, Wisconsin will return home to Madison and knock off this solid Illinois squad. The Fighting Illini enter this Big 10 battle off a pair of straight up home wins over Iowa and Minnesota and this will be a tough trip for head coach Brad Underwood and his boys.

If the blemish in Bloomington won’t have the Badgers fired up, then the simple fact that head coach Greg Gard and his troops have dropped six straight in this series (0-6 ATS as well) will be more than enough to do the trick. Thankfully, inside the Kohl Center locked into a revenge mode, UW owns a profitable 47-24-3 ATS mark provided its opponent arrives with confidence off two or more straight up wins. If the Badgers are facing a foe that played in the comforts of home last, this power angle improves to an elite 40-16-3 ATS including an amazing 35-7-2 ATS provided their opponent owns a team won/loss percentage greater than .740.

This isn’t the best wagering spot for Illinois either. When priced as an underdog and arriving with steam off a straight up win, the Fighting Illini have lost their punch posting a soft 52-74-3 ATS tally provided they enter with three or more days of rest. In this situation holding a team won/loss percentage of .680 or better, Coach Underwood and his crew fall to a horrible 30-57-1 ATS including an ugly 20-39-1 ATS provided they played in their own backyard last. With those three parameters in play and Illinois facing a conference foe, this situation falls to a horrible 13-30 ATS.

The Badgers have inked a 13-2 SU record at home this season and lost to a pair of ranked teams in the Boilermakers (No. 2) and Volunteers (No. 9). Off the blemish at IU, UW will pick up its sweet revenge here. Take Wisconsin. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
