#754 SMU (-8) over Tulane at 7 PM EST
In a bad mood off back-to-back SU and ATS road losses at North Texas and Wichita State, SMU will return home to Moody Coliseum and get after it in this double revenge battle against Tulane. The Green Wave stumble into this contest off a pair of SU and ATS blemishes to the Roadrunners and 49ers and this will be another difficult spot for head coach Ron Hunter and his crew.
Last year, the Mustangs dropped both decisions to the Green Wave falling at home (97-88) and on the road (74-52). Thankfully, in their own backyard returning off two or more true road games, the Ponies have performed very well inking a reliable 25-6 SU and 16-12-1 ATS record. In this setting holding a team won/loss percentage of .630 or higher, SMU tightens up to a respectable 22-2 SU and 14-8-1 ATS. Additionally, as a single digit favorite holding a team won/loss percentage of .501 or better, head coach Rob Lanier and his troops own a profitable 16-5 SU and 14-7 ATS tally in their last 21 battles.
Sporting a mediocre 15-12 SU and 11-14 ATS record in its last 27 games, Tulane isn’t exactly lighting it up on the hardwood right now. To make matters worse, the Green Wave have experienced all kinds of problems in this series when playing in Dallas inking a stiff 3-17 SU mark. Also, when priced as a single digit pup and holding a team won/loss percentage of .430 or better, Coach Hunter’s boys have been at their financial worst posting a miserable 16-40 SU and 22-34 ATS tally including a nasty 8-21 SU and 9-20 ATS provided they do not take the court off a blowout loss of five points or more.
Tops in the conference in field goal percentage defense and three-point percentage defense, the Mustangs will lean on their stop unit to help them pick up this double-revenge payday. Take SMU. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
