#934 MINNESOTA with Ryan (-125) over Houston with Urquidy at 7:07 PM EST
Checking in focused and hungry off yesterday’s brutal 9-1 home loss to the ‘Stros, the Twins will lean on their home fans to help them pick up this victory and force a decisive game five. Minnesota hasn’t dropped back-to-back games since September 10th-11th and manager Rocco Baldelli will make sure his players take care of business with their season on the line.

Young righty Joe Ryan will grab the pearl for the home team. Tossing against the Rockies, Halos, and Reds in his last three starts, No. 41 was tripped for 13 earned runs and 20 hits in 16.0 innings. Joe fanned 21 and issued four free passes on his way to a 1-1 tally with a 7.31 ERA. Thankfully, with 14 starts logged inside Target Field, Ryan was scratched for only 35 earned runs and 74 hits in 82.1 frames. That’s good enough for a 7-4 record with a strong 3.83 ERA.

Right-hander Jose Urquidy will take the bump for the guests. In his last start at Arizona, No. 65 tossed a gem surrendering no earned runs and two hits in 6.0 innings of work. Jose struck out two, walked three, and grabbed the dub in the ‘Stros 2-1 victory. However, under the lights, Urquidy has been at his statistical worst allowing 27 earned runs and 43 hits in just 36.1 frames. After the math, that adds up to a 2-2 mark with an elevated 6.69 ERA.

A handful of lucrative team trends support this investment. Minnesota has won 13 of its last 17 when coming off a blemish of eight runs or more and 46 of its last 60 when priced as home chalk with odds between -101 and -150. On the other side of the field, Houston has slipped in 15 of its last 24 when coming off a blowout victory of six runs or more.

With no margin for error, the Twins will bounce back off yesterday’s crushing loss and send this series back to The Bayou City. Take Minnesota with Ryan. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
