TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASEBALL SELECTION SATURDAY, JULY 15TH

#963 TAMPA BAY RUN-LINE with Glasnow (-1′ -170) over Kansas City with Marsh at 2:10 PM EST
Checking in on a dismal 3-7 run prior to the All-Star break and clinging to just a 1.5-game lead over the Orioles in the AL East standings, the Devil Rays will make sure they take care of business against the Royals this weekend. Kansas City sits a whopping 39.0-games under the .500 mark and losing to the second-worst team in the American League isn’t an option for Tampa Bay right now.

Grabbing the pearl for the visitors will be hard-throwing right-hander Tyler Glasnow. Lined up against the Braves, Mariners, and Royals in his last three starts, No. 20 was nicked for only five earned runs and 13 hits in 16.1 innings. Tyler whiffed 31 and walked three on his way to a surprising 0-2 mark with a reliable 2.76 ERA. Foreign soil has been kind to the Newhall, California star as well. As a guest, Glasnow has surrendered just seven earned runs and 17 hits in 16.1 frames. That shakes down to a 1-1 tally with a noteworthy 3.86 ERA.

Rookie righty Alec Marsh will get the nod for Kaycee. Facing the Twins and Dodgers in his first two outings, No. 67 was smashed for seven earned runs and nine hits in only 9.0 innings of work. Alec struck out 10 and walked seven on his way to an 0-2 tally with a 7.00 ERA. Additionally, in AA ball this summer, Marsh made 11 starts and was punished for 28 earned runs and 51 hits in 47.1 frames. That shakes down to a 3-3 record with a soft 5.89 ERA.

Plenty of highly profitable team trends support this Best Bet. Tampa Bay has won 35 of its last 45 priced as a hefty favorite of -150 or more and 28 of its last 33 facing an American League opponent that allows 5.4 or more runs per game. On the other side of the field, Kansas City has fallen in 13 of its last 14 when playing on Friday, 43 of its last 55 under the lights, and 83 of its last 111 when priced as a pup of +150 or more.

With the O’s charging hard, the Rays understand the importance of sweeping the Royals in this non-division series. Take Tampa Bay on the run-line with Glasnow. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
