TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASKETBALL SELECTION WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15TH

#720 CLEMSON (-15′) over Morehead State at 7 PM EST
Off the humbling 20-point loss to Virginia in the ACC semifinals, Clemson will return home and do a number on visiting Morehead State in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles enter this postseason battle off a seven-point loss to the Redhawks in the semifinals of the OVC Tournament and this elevated pointspread is a sure sign that head coach Preston Spradlin and his kids are in real trouble here.

Technically speaking, this is an incredible wagering spot for the Tigers. At home hitting the hardwood without confidence off a blowout loss of 10 points or more, Clemmie holds a powerful 60-32 ATS record. In this setting fighting a foe that checks in with four or more days of rest, the Tiger Paw improves to a lucrative 34-13 ATS. Also, in the First Round of the NIT Tournament, teams from the ACC hold a remarkable 44-23 ATS mark including an elite 33-6 ATS provided our “play on” side owns a pointspread won/loss percentage of .470 or better. Head coach Brad Brownell and his boys fit both of those highly profitable angles.

Respect is certainly given to a Morehead State team that owns a strong 11-2 SU and 10-3 ATS record in its last 13 games. However, the Eagles have struggled against ACC foes posting an ugly 16-51 SU all-time mark and they don’t match up well in this contest at all. Big dog roles have been a problem for MSU too. When priced as a double-digit pup, the Eagles own a rough 1-19 SU and 6-14 ATS tally including a disturbing 0-9 SU and ATS in their last nine falling by an average of 22.7 points per game.

After picking up 14 conference wins in the regular season (a school record), the Tigers got snubbed by the NCAA Tournament committee. Coach Brownell and his players weren’t happy about that and they’ll begin their NIT tour with a blowout win over the Eagles. Take Clemson. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
