TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASKETBALL SELECTION SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH
#842 STANFORD (-5′) over Washington at 6 PM EST
Off three straight wins and covers over Oregon, Oregon State, and California, Washington will finally meet its match when it visits Stanford on Sunday evening. The Cardinal stumbles into this Pac-12 battle off three consecutive straight up losses to the Bruins, Trojans, and Cougars, and the Tree will make Senior Night memorable with a win and cover over the Huskies.
Revenge will certainly be the motivating force for head coach Jerod Haase and his troops. Back on January 12th, Stanford (+2.5) visited Washington and suffered a massive 86-69 beating. Thankfully, in this series, the Cardinal has played well notching a respectable 11-6 SU and ATS record in their last 17 tries. Additionally, at home running the court against an opponent that enters off a road game, Stanford holds a reliable 190-52 SU and 123-87-5 ATS mark including a powerful 24-10 SU and 26-8 ATS provided its foe takes the floor with momentum off two or more straight up wins. With those two parameters in play and the Tree facing an opponent that enters off a blowout victory of nine points or more, this situation cruises to an elite 19-5 SU and 21-3 ATS.
This isn’t the best wagering spot for UW either. As a guest checking in with confidence off a straight up win, the Huskies have struggled lately notching a weak 3-11 SU and 4-10 ATS record in their last 14 games. Even worse, on the road going into revenge, head coach Mike Hopkins and his crew have been a poor source of income notching a rough 13-33 SU and 17-27 ATS mark including a woeful 3-19 SU and 7-15 ATS provided they are priced as a pup between +3 and +9 points, respectively. Finally, on the Pac-12 road, Washington has inked a dismal 10-33 SU tally in its last 43 tries.
The Cardinal has quietly won five of their last seven at home and they’ll tickle the twine from behind the arc (the Tree leads the Pac-12 in 3-point shooting at 35.8%) to help extend the margin in this contest. Take Stanford. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
