Tom Stryker’s Free Basketball Play February 19th

TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASKETBALL SELECTION SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19TH

#842 HOUSTON (-13′) over Memphis at 3 PM EST
On a 6-0 SU run in their last six games (3-3 ATS) and looking up at Alabama in the college basketball standings, No. 2 Houston will return home from its 15-point road win at SMU and completely dominate visiting Memphis. The Tigers have quietly inked a solid 8-1 SU and 6-3 ATS mark in their last nine battles and head coach Penny Hardaway and his kids will finally meet their match here.

Even though the Cougars won and covered the last meeting between these two teams back on March 13th, 2022 in the AAC Tournament final, UH’s soft 11-22 SU and 11-21-1 ATS record in its last 33 battles in this series will keep it focused on the task at hand. Thankfully, when coming off a pointspread loss, head coach Kelvin Sampson and his squad have been at their financial best inking a phenomenal 52-9 SU and 45-13 ATS tally including a lucrative 36-4 SU and 32-8 ATS provided their opponent takes the floor off a conference game. Additionally, when stepping up in class and fighting a foe that owns a team won/loss percentage of .751 or better, Houston holds a reliable 17-5 SU and 16-6 ATS mark.

Memphis hasn’t exactly been one of college basketball’s best road teams. As a guest, the Tigers hold a feeble 39-56 SU and 43-51-1 ATS record in their last 95 games including a surprising 5-17 SU and 6-16 ATS provided Coach Hardaway’s kids own a team won/loss percentage of .750 or higher. In this situation checking in off the comforts of a home game, Memphis falls to a miserable 2-11 SU and ATS in its last 13 tries. Finally, when priced as a double-digit underdog, the Tigers have lost 12 straight by an average of 14.7 points per game.

If the Cougars want to slip back into the No. 1 slot in college basketball, Coach Sampson and his boys will need to put on a show against a solid Tigers bunch. That’s exactly what UH will do. Take Houston. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
