After suffering a rare loss to South Dakota inside Vivint Arena (now 17-1 SU in its last 18 on that court), BYU will check into the Marriott Center and do a number on visiting Utah Valley. Head coach Mark Madsen and the Wolverines enter this non-conference battle off a 10-point home win over the Beach and they’ll have issues in this spot.
As a non-conference home favorite carrying a team won/loss percentage of .501 or better, the Cougars have been a solid investment notching a profitable 67-43-1 ATS record. In this setting laying -17.5 or less, the Stormin’ Mormons improve to a rewarding 56-32-1 ATS including a money-making 38-19-1 ATS provided their opponent checks in with four or more days of rest. Additionally, as a favorite priced at -8.5 or more and running with revenge of any kind, BYU owns an outstanding 31-10 ATS mark.
With only 3.4 miles separating the two schools, Utah Valley owns bragging rights thanks to its 72-65 overtime home win on December 1st, 2021. Unfortunately, for Coach Madsen and his kids, the Wolverines have experienced a few problems lately in the role of an underdog inking a soft 3-8 SU and ATS record in their last 11 games. Also, when hitting the court with momentum off a blowout win of 10 points or more, USU carries a feeble 7-13 ATS mark including a woeful 2-7 ATS in this situation if it is matched up against a foe that arrives off a straight up loss.
