TOM STRYKER’S FREE FOOTBALL SELECTION SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH
#469 LA RAMS (+3) over Tampa Bay at 4:25 PM EST
Off last week’s ugly 31-14 home loss to the 49ers, the Rams will skip over to Bucs Country and pull off this minor upset. Tampa Bay is still having issues on a dismal 0-3 SU and ATS run, and quarterback Tom Brady and his troops don’t match up well in this contest at all.
A quick peek at the History Book shows that Los Angeles has played well in this series posting a solid 8-2 SU and 9-1 ATS mark in the last 10 meetings and has quietly won and covered three straight. Equally impressive, when coming off a straight up loss, the Rams have bounce back nicely inking a reliable 15-7 SU and ATS mark in their last 22 tries including a money-making 13-1 SU and 11-3 ATS provided their opponent owns a team won/loss percentage less than .700. Finally, when going into revenge, LA holds a powerful 18-6 SU and 19-5 ATS mark.
Currently on a 1-5 SU and 0-6 ATS run, it is obvious that Tampa Bay is having problems right now. Things won’t get any better for the Bucs here either. Since 1980, game nine NFL teams that hold a 3-5 SU record have struggled notching a feeble 19-28-2 ATS mark provided their opponent arrives off a double-digit straight up loss. As long as our “play against” side is not off a blowout victory of nine points or more, this situation crumbles to a woeful 12-26-2 ATS including a rough 7-19-2 ATS if they are priced as a favorite or an underdog of +3 or less. That spells trouble for the Bucs.
After getting throttled for 31 points by the 49ers last week, look for the Rams defense to tighten things up and help key this victory. Take Los Angeles. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
