Young right-hander Spencer Strider will be up for the challenge for the home team. Spencer was tagged with the loss in New York’s 5-2 victory.
Veteran righty Carlos Carrasco will counter for the visitors. With a grand total of 22 starts in the bank, No. 59 has surrendered 52 earned runs and 127 hits in 124.1 innings of work. Carrasco struck out 123 and walked 32 on his way to an elite 13-4 record with a 3.76 ERA. Thankfully, Carlos hasn’t been as effective on the road. As a guest, Carrasco has been cranked for 24 earned runs and 52 hits in 49.0 frames. That equates to a 5-3 mark with a 4.41 ERA.
Plenty of powerful team trends support this Best Bet. Atlanta has tasted victory in 47 of its last 66 overall, 36 of its last 51 when facing a foe that scored five runs or more last, and 49 of its last 73 when playing inside the friendly confines of Truist Park. On the other side of the field, New York has fallen in five of its last seven on the road fighting a foe that holds a team won/loss percentage greater than .500.
