#967 TORONTO with Berrios (-156) over Baltimore with Kremer at 7:05 PM EST
Off two straight losses to the O’s and in danger of being swept, the Blue Jays will battle back and pick up a huge win here. Baltimore still owns a losing record in division play (22-24) and manager Brandon Hyde and his boys will finally meet their match in this AL East war.

Up on the bump for the visitors will be veteran right-hander Jose Berrios. Through 22 starts this season, No. 27 has allowed 68 earned runs and 130 hits in 118.0 innings of work. Berrios struck out 107 and walked 29 on his way to an 8-4 tally with a 5.19 ERA. Jose has absolutely owned the Orioles too. Since 2016, Berrios has made nine starts against the O’s and allowed 20 earned runs and 52 hits in 59.0 frames. After the math, that adds up to a sensational 6-0 mark with a proud 1.36 ERA.

Young righty Dean Kremer will hit the hump for the home team. With three years in the league and a grand total of 28 starts, Kremer was cracked for 77 earned runs and 140 hits in 130.0 innings. Kremer whiffed 112 and walked 51 on his way to a dismal 5-11 mark and a soft 5.33 ERA. The Jays have been a thorn in Dean’s side too. In his last three outings in this series, Kremer has been slammed for 13 earned runs and 12 hits (six of which went over the fence) in only 10.1 frames. That’s bad enough for an 0-1 record and a woeful 11.33 ERA.

Technically speaking, this is a solid spot for the visitors too. Toronto has won seven of its last eight after dropping the first two games of a series, five of its last seven after allowing five runs or more last, and six of its last eight when coming off a loss. On the other side of the chalk line, Baltimore has slipped in 49 of its last 69 on Wednesday, 125 of its last 181 at home facing a foe that owns a team won/loss percentage greater than .500, and five of its last six in the third game of a series.

If the Blue Jays want to put any type of pressure on the first-place Yankees, then they’ll need to find ways to consistently win on the road. Take Toronto with Berrios. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
