Checking in off back-to-back blemishes to the Pale Hose, the Twins will be fired up for this double-revenge battle. Minnesota’s advantage in the AL Central is down to 2.5-games over Cleveland and the Twinkies need this victory badly.
Hitting the hill for the home team will be right-hander Dylan Bundy. In his last five starts, No. 37 has been touched for nine earned runs and 23 hits in 29.0 innings. Bundy fanned 20 and walked six on his way to a 2-1 mark with an elite 2.79 ERA. Dylan has been lights out inside Target Field too. In his own backyard, Bundy has been tripped for only six earned runs and 19 hits in 25.2 frames. That’s good enough for 2-1 tally with a powerful 2.10 ERA.
Veteran righty Lance Lynn will counter for the ChiSox. In his last three outings against the O’s, Giants, and Twins, No. 33 was drilled for 10 earned runs and 15 hits in 17.2 innings. Lynn fanned 17 and walked five on his way to an 0-1 mark with a feeble 5.10 ERA. Lance’s outing on July 6th against the Twinkies didn’t go so well either. Lynn was punched for five earned runs and six hits in 5.0 frames and failed to earn a decision in the White Sox’s 9-8 victory.
Pitching in day starts has been a problem for Lance too. With the sun shining, Lynn has been lashed for 10 earned runs and 12 hits in 11.2 innings. That translates into a dismal 0-1 mark with an elevated 7.71 ERA. In comparison, Bundy has made seven starts against the Pale Hose (all straight up Twins wins) and owns a stunning 5-0 tally with a proud 3.43 ERA.
The Twins lead in the division is shrinking rapidly and they need to close out with a pair of dubs over the White Sox to create a little breathing room. Take Minnesota with Bundy. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
