TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASKETBALL SELECTION WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6TH
#586 CHICAGO (+7) over Boston at 8 PM EST
Off back-to-back SU and ATS home losses to Miami and Milwaukee, Chicago will rally the troops and give Boston a run for its money on Wednesday night in the Windy City. Even though the Celtics are on a jaw-dropping 24-5 SU and 17-11-1 ATS run, they’ll have their hands full with this determined Bulls bunch.
History will be on Da Bulls side. In this series taking the court off the comforts of a home game, head coach Billy Donovan’s boys have been worth the wager posting a reliable 47-28-1 ATS record in their last 76 tries. In this run priced competitively between -9.5 and +9.5, Chicago improves to a healthy 39-17-1 ATS. Also, as a conference host running the floor without confidence off two or more straight up losses, the Bulls hold a dependable 111-80 SU and 116-71-2 ATS mark including an astounding 36-12-1 ATS provided they arrive off a double-digit pointspread loss as well. With those two parameters live and Da Bulls priced as a single-digit underdog, this power angle improves to a solid 16-2 ATS.
With three games on the road to finish the season, and in the first of a back-to-back with a game at Milwaukee on deck, this trip to Chicago will prove to be a difficult one for Boston. For starters, when coming off a blowout win of 10 points or more, the Shamrocks have been a poor investment inking a weak 18-33-2 ATS mark in their next game. In this setting running the court against a foe that enters off a straight up loss, the Boys from Beantown slip to a feeble 7-20-1 ATS including a nasty 2-14 ATS if their opponent busts in off a double-digit blemish. Also, in conference play fighting a foe that enters off two or more straight up losses, head coach Ime Udoka’s troops own a disgusting 7-18-1 ATS mark.
With Zach LaVine expected back in the lineup, the Bulls own a little bit more in this underdog role. Take Chicago. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
