TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASKETBALL SELECTION FRIDAY, APRIL 1ST
#503 TORONTO (-11) over Orlando at 7 PM EST
In a battle for the No. 5 slot in the Eastern Conference playoff standings with the Bulls, the red-hot Raptors will travel to the Sunshine State and pound the Magic. Orlando limps into this contest on a dismal 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS run, and head coach Jamahl Mosley’s troops will get hammered here.
Revenge motivation will have Toronto focused and ready for this payback opportunity. Back on March 4th, the Dinosaurs (-8) hosted the Magic and they got shocked 103-97. Counting that loss, Toronto currently owns a powerful 32-7 SU and 22-16-1 ATS tally in the last 39 meetings including a strong 28-6 SU and 21-12-1 ATS record provided Orlando holds a team won/loss percentage less than .510. Head coach Nick Nurse’s boys are playing some of their best ball of the season too inking a solid 10-2 SU and 9-3 ATS record in their last 12 games. Finally, when competing with same season revenge, Toronto sports a dependable 10-2 SU and 9-3 ATS mark in its last 13 battles.
With a dismal 24-77 SU and 42-58-1 ATS record in their last 101 games, Orlando has certainly been one of the NBA’s worst teams lately. In this run playing in the comforts of home, the Magic fall to a horrible 11-37 SU and 15-32-1 ATS including a filthy 7-29 SU and 10-25-1 ATS provided they take the floor without confidence off a straight up loss. Also, in their own backyard going into same season revenge, Orlando has been a poor investment posting a rough 2-9 SU and ATS tally in its last 11 games. As long as the Magic are not off a straight up win of five points or more, this team trend crashes to a disturbing 0-7 SU and ATS.
The Raptors seem to be peaking at the right time and they’ll have no trouble cashing this revenge ticket. Take Toronto. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
