TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASKETBALL SELECTION WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9TH
#674 SETON HALL (-10) over Georgetown at 9:30 PM EST
The Pirates are locked into three elite postseason systems that own money-making marks of 22-11 ATS, 50-30 ATS, and 55-21 ATS and they’ll have no trouble smashing this struggling Hoyas squad. Checking in off 20 consecutive straight up losses, Georgetown simply wants to close the chapter on this dismal season and focus on next year’s run.
A quick look at the History Book shows that Seton Hall has dominated this series lately posting a strong 12-4 SU and 9-6-1 ATS mark in the last 16 meetings. Also, Big East conference tournament favorites priced at -9.5 or more have performed very well lately notching an elite 32-5 SU and 23-13-1 ATS tally in their last 37 games including a strong 22-2 SU and 16-7-1 ATS provided they are not a No. 1 seed. Wrapping it up, the Pirates have played well in the Big East conference tournament when arriving with confidence off two or more straight up wins posting a nearly perfect 7-1 ATS mark in their last eight tries.
It’s certainly hard to back a Georgetown team that is on a horrendous 0-20 SU and 7-11-2 ATS run in its last 20 games. To add fuel to the fire, the Hoyas have been a horrible investment when matched up against an opponent that arrives off a straight up underdog win posting a pathetic 16-33-1 ATS mark including a nasty 10-27-1 ATS if this is a conference battle. Also, when hitting the court off a pointspread loss, head coach Patrick Ewing’s boys hold a disturbing 2-12 SU and 4-9-1 ATS tally in their last 14 games.
Last year, the Hoyas had a magical run in the Big East tourney winning four straight as an underdog to grab the title. Rest assured; the Pirates will make sure that doesn’t happen this season. Take Seton Hall. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
