TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASKETBALL SELECTION FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH
#560 UTAH (-13′) over Orlando at 9 PM EST
Back on track on a 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS run, Utah will have no trouble extending the margin when Orlando visits on Friday night. The Magic enter this non-conference battle off a huge road win and cover over the Trailblazers and this is going to a be a really tough spot for head coach Jamahl Mosley and his crew.
In case you forgot, the Jazz (-11) visited Magic Country back on November 7th and lost outright 107-100. Even with that blemish, head coach Quin Snyder’s kids still hold a powerful 18-6 SU and 15-8-1 ATS mark in the last 24 meetings. Also, when hitting the hardwood with plenty of confidence off four or more straight up wins, Utah owns a highly profitable 26-8 SU and 21-12-1 ATS record including an elite 19-2 SU and 15-5-1 ATS provided the Jazz are rolling in the comforts of home. Finally, in its own backyard arriving off a home pointspread victory, Utah holds a reliable 38-10 SU and 30-17-1 ATS mark including a lucrative 35-8 SU and 30-13 ATS provided the Jazz are rolling with three days of rest or less.
Kudos to the Magic for knocking off the Trailblazers. However, asking Orlando to now beat Utah for the second consecutive time this season is a very tall order. When stepping up in class and fighting a foe that holds a team won/loss percentage of .601 or higher, Coach Mosley’s troops have struggled something fierce inking a woeful 14-55 SU and 24-44-1 ATS record in their last 69 games. As long as both teams hit the hardwood rested, this team trend falls to a shocking 6-39 SU and 12-33 ATS. Also, when matched up against a Western Conference foe, Orlando holds a stiff 12-35 SU and 18-28-1 ATS tally in its last 47 tries including an ugly 4-22 SU and 8-18 ATS provided the Magic are not off two or more straight up losses.
Firing on all cylinders and locked into a serious payback mode, the Jazz will dance their way to an easy win and cover here. Take Utah. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
