TOM STRYKER’S FREE FOOTBALL SELECTION SATURDAY, JANUARY 8TH
#469 DALLAS (-4) over Philadelphia at 8:15 PM EST
Off that surprising home loss to the Cardinals last weekend, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy will make sure his troops build a little momentum for the playoffs by whipping the Eagles on Saturday night. Philadelphia already owns a playoff spot and, with COVID-19 problems surrounding the program, the Green Birds won’t want to waste too much energy in this meaningless matchup.
There are a handful of quick power angles that support this investment too. In this last eight meetings between these two division rivals, Dallas has performed very well notching a strong 6-2 SU and ATS record. Also, in their last 20 as a road favorite, the Cowboys hold a dependable 14-6 SU and 13-6-1 ATS record including an elite 14-2 SU and 13-2-1 ATS mark provided they are laying -3 or more. Lastly, in their last 14 games against NFC competition, the ‘Boys own a lucrative 11-3 SU and 12-2 ATS record including an elite 8-1 SU and 9-0 ATS provided they bust in off a non-division battle.
Off four consecutive straight up wins over the Jets, Football Team, Giants, and Washington (again), the Eagles will have issues when they step up in class and battle the Cowboys. Technically speaking, this is a poor wagering spot for the Green Birds too. In their last 35 games priced as a home dog, the Eagles hold a soft 9-26 SU and 15-20 ATS tally. In their last 12 in this spot facing a foe that busts in off a pointspread loss, Philadelphia falls to a woeful 1-11 SU and 2-10 ATS. Finally, when both the Eagles and their opponent own a team won/loss percentage of .500 or better, Philly sports a woeful 22-33 ATS mark in its last 55 battles.
With a win, the ‘Boys can climb from the No. 4 seed to the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. With the Eagles looking to give a few starters some much needed rest, the Big D will stroll right into the City of Brotherly love and cash this ticket. Take Dallas. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
