TOM STRYKER’S FREE FOOTBALL SELECTION FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH

#189 KENTUCKY (-) over Vanderbilt at 7 PM EST
Off three consecutive losses to Georgia, Mississippi State, and Tennessee, Kentucky will bounce back in a big way when it steps way down in class and battles Vanderbilt on Saturday night. The Commodores enter this contest off a hard-fought nine-point home loss to Mizzou and they’ll be in trouble in this last home game setting.

According to the History Book, UK has played extremely well in this series notching an elite 18-7 SU and 14-11 ATS record in the last 25 meetings. In this run fighting a ‘Dores group that holds a team won/loss percentage of .400 or less, the Wildcats jump to a money-making 13-3 SU and 11-5 ATS. Equally impressive, college football favorites that are priced heavily at -18.5 or more own a dependable 53-29-1 ATS mark provided they check in off three or more straight up losses. If our “play on” side played in the comforts of home last, this technical situation jumps to a solid 18-6-1 ATS. That bodes well for Kentucky.

It won’t take much to fade Vanderbilt either. The Commodores are on a woeful 5-26 SU and 9-20 ATS run including just 4-14 SU and 3-13 ATS if they are playing in Nashville. Also, when coming off a straight up home loss and a pointspread victory, the ‘Dores own a rough 12-24 SU and 9-20 ATS record including 7-21 SU and 6-19 ATS provided their opponent is not rested. With those two parameters live and Vandy tackling a foe that holds a team won/loss percentage of .800 or less, this team trend crashes to a miserable 5-17 SU and 3-16 ATS.

Offensively, the Wildcats generated over 600 yards of total offense in their three-point home loss to the Vols. Matched up against a Commodores stop unit that has surrendered an average of 35.6 points and 463.1 total yards per game, head coach Mark Stoops’ boys will pile up points and yards easily in this mismatch. Take Kentucky. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
