Checking in off a stint on the IL for the Brewers will be left-hander Brett Anderson. With 21 starts in the bank for No. 25 this year, Anderson has been nicked for 41 earned runs and 92 hits in 88.1 innings of work. Brett whiffed 56 and walked 26 on his way to a 4-8 record with a 4.18 ERA. In five career starts against the Cards, Brett owns a 2-3 tally with a respectable 3.04 ERA.
Right-hander Miles Mikolas will get the call for the visitors. In four September outings, No. 39 has been zapped for 12 earned runs and 19 hits in 18.2 innings. Mikolas struck out 10 and walked six on his way to a 1-1 record with an elevated 5.79 ERA. Even though Miles has not faced the Brew Crew this season, he holds a 4-1 tally with a 4.06 ERA in seven career starts against his division rival.
There are several elite team trends that support this wager. Milwaukee has won 41 of its last 59 when matched up against a right-handed starter, 21 of its last 28 in the third game of a series, and 38 of its last 56 after dropping the first two games of a series.
