TOM STRYKER’S FREE BASKETBALL SELECTION THURSDAY, MARCH 11TH

#758 LOUISIANA TECH (-7′) over Florida Atlantic at 9:30 PM EST
Watch out for the Conference USA West Division champions! Louisiana Tech enters this showdown on a blistering 12-2 SU and 11-2 ATS run in its last 14 games and the Bulldogs will have no trouble eliminating the Owls. Florida Atlantic enters this postseason battle off a huge upset win over Texas El Paso last night and this will be a very difficult encore for FAU.

Even though these two programs failed to meet this season, Louisiana Tech has been in control in the last six battles posting a solid 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS mark. Equally impressive, since December 1st, 2018, the Bulldogs have gone on a tear notching a profitable 58-24 SU and 42-25-1 ATS record including a strong 39-17 SU and 29-15-1 ATS mark in this set provided they check in off a straight up win. With those two parameters live and head coach Eric Konkol’s boys fighting a conference foe, this team trend jets to an elite 24-12 SU and 24-11-1 ATS.

Florida Atlantic’s 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS run is certainly noted. However, when running into momentum and battling a foe that takes the court off two or more straight up wins, the Owls haven’t been worth a hoot posting a woeful 14-59 SU and 24-45-1 ATS record. In this role matched up against a conference foe, FAU falls to a horrible 11-44 SU and 18-36-1 ATS. Finally, off a straight up win of six points or more, the Owls own a dismal 19-34-2 ATS mark provided they check in with three days of rest or less.

Considering the Bulldogs have won at least one game in five of the last six conference tournaments, they will have no problems extending the margin in this one. Take Louisiana Tech. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
