TOM STRYKER’S FREE FOOTBALL SELECTION SUNDAY, DECEMBER 27TH

#454 LA CHARGERS (-2′) over Denver at 4 PM EST
Checking in off back-to-back SU and ATS wins over the Falcons and Raiders, the Chargers will make it three straight when the Broncos get to town on Sunday afternoon. Denver enters its final road game of the season off a blowout home loss to Buffalo and this will prove to be a difficult journey for the Orange Crush.

Considering the Bolts own a dismal 4-15 SU and 7-11-1 ATS mark in the last 19 meetings, it certainly won’t take much for LA to get up for this division battle. When these two teams met on November 1st, the Chargers (-3) suffered a heart-breaking 31-30 road loss to the Broncos. Thankfully, when competing with division revenge and arriving with a little steam off a straight tup win, Los Angeles has been at its financial best posting a sizzling 30-17 SU and 33-12-2 ATS record. In this setting priced as a favorite or an underdog of +5.5 or less, the Chargers improve to a rewarding 26-8 SU and 26-6-2 ATS including 20-5 SU and 20-3-2 ATS if their opponent played in the comforts of home last.

Technically speaking, this is a tough spot for the Broncos. Since 1980, game 15 teams competing in the regular season against a division foe hold a shocking 9-29 ATS record provided they check in off a blowout loss of 10 points or more and are currently lined up against an opponent that sports a team won/loss percentage less than .428. If our “play against” side is battling a foe that arrives off a straight up win, this technical situation falls to a woeful 1-12 ATS. To make matters worse, Denver has struggled in its last 30 division games posting a horrible 11-19 SU and 9-20-1 ATS mark including a nasty 9-15 SU and 5-18-1 ATS if its opponent carries a team won/loss percentage of .750 or less.

With a road war against the Chiefs on deck and a potential beating, the Bolts will close out their home campaign with a huge revenge win and cover over the struggling Broncos. Take LA Chargers. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
