TOM STRYKER’S FREE FOOTBALL SELECTION SUNDAY, DECEMBER 20TH
#360 BALTIMORE (-13) over Jacksonville at 1 PM EST
Back on track and arriving off a pair of impressive SU and ATS wins over the Cowboys and Browns, the Ravens will have no problems stuffing the visiting Jaguars on Sunday afternoon. Jacksonville has dropped 12 straight and head coach Doug Marrone’s kids will have serious issues at this venue. Let’s take a look inside the numbers.
In the last meeting between these two AFC teams, Baltimore (-3) dropped a 44-7 decision to the Jags on September 24th, 2017 in London. The memory of that beating and the simple fact that the Ravens need this victory to keep their playoff hopes alive will be more than enough to keep the Black Birds focused for this battle. Technically speaking, Baltimore holds a powerful 62-15-1 SU and 47-30-1 ATS when hosting an opponent that arrives off a blowout loss of 10 points or more. In this spot checking in off a straight up win, the Ravens improve to a solid 34-4 SU and 28-10 ATS. Also, as a non-division home favorite, the Black Birds sport a solid 75-13 SU and 53-33-2 ATS tally including a sensational 43-4 SU and 30-16-1 ATS if their opponent enters off a straight up loss.
Currently on a pathetic 9-32 SU and 15-24-2 ATS run in their last 41 games, the Jaguars are obviously having all kinds of problems on the football field. In this run lined up against a non-division foe, Jacksonville drops to a disturbing 5-20 SU and 8-16-1 ATS including a woeful 1-13 SU and 3-10-1 ATS if its opponent arrives off a pointspread win. Even worse, in non-division play arriving off the comforts of a home war, the Jags hold a stiff 45-67-3 ATS mark including 20-43-1 ATS if their opponent was on the road last. With those two parameters live and Coach Marrone’s boys facing a foe that scoots in off a division war, this team trend falls to an ugly 5-21 SU and 4-21-1 ATS.
Still in the hunt for an AFC Playoff spot, the Ravens simply can’t afford to take their foot off the gas right now. Take Baltimore. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
