The Dons apply to four conference tournament systems of mine that hold lucrative marks of 38-11 ATS, 46-26 ATS, 50-20 ATS and 98-46 ATS and they’ll have no trouble whipping the Lions. Let’s take a look inside the numbers.
These two conference foes met twice this season and USF walked away with straight up wins in both games by margins of eight and two points respectively. You can bet your last buck that the Dons will be fired up for this game too. Last year, in the quarterfinals of the WCC Tournament, San Francisco (-8) got hammered by Pepperdine 89-72. The Dons haven’t forgotten about that quick exit and they will be well prepared for this contest. On a technical note, in conference play battling an opponent that carries a team won/loss percentage less than .400, USF sports a strong 60-17 SU and 46-30-1 ATS record in its last 77 tries including 45-11 SU and 36-19-1 ATS if the Dons are going into revenge. With those two parameters live and San Francisco not off a blowout victory of 12 points or more, this team trend jets to a lucrative 37-7 SU and 31-12-1 ATS.
Off last night’s blowout victory over the Toreros, this will prove to be a tough encore for the Lions. For starters, LMU is a weak 3-13 SU and 4-11 ATS in its last 16 games when checking in with confidence off a SU and ATS victory. Also, when hitting the hardwood off a straight up win and now battling a conference foe that also arrives off a straight up win, Loyola Marymount holds a soft 3-17 SU and 6-12-2 ATS mark including 3-9 SU and 2-8 ATS in this set provided its opponent carries a team won/loss percentage less than .750. Finally, WCC Tournament underdogs priced at +12 or less hold a feeble 7-19 SU and 9-16-1 ATS record provided they won their last postseason game straight up by double digits. If our “play against” side is facing a foe that hits the hardwood off two or more straight up wins, this angle falls to a horrible 3-15 SU and 4-14 ATS.
