#903 ATLANTA with Teheran (+102) over Washington with Fedde at 7:05 PM EST
Completely focused off a pair of losses to the Nationals and Phillies, the Braves will bring their “A-Game” to DC and pick up a huge win on Tuesday evening.

Sizzling right-hander Julio Teheran will toe the rubber for Hotlanta. In the month of July, No. 49 has made four starts and been touched for only three earned runs and 16 hits in 23.2 innings of work. Teheran whiffed 23 and issued five free passes on his way to an 0-1 record with a powerful 1.14 ERA. Julio’s career numbers against the Nationals aren’t bad either. According to my notes, Teheran holds a 6-6 overall record with a 4.02 ERA.

Young right-hander Erick Fedde will go for the host. With Max Scherzer on the shelf, No. 23 will leave Double-A Harrisburg and make his third start in the month of July for the big team. Fedde faced Baltimore on July 17th and Colorado on July 24th and was nicked for only two earned runs and eight hits in 10.0 innings. Erick struck out four and walked two but failed to earn a decision in either game and assembled a 1.80 ERA. Overall, at home, Fedde has surrendered 12 earned runs and 24 hits through 27.1 frames. After the math, that adds up to a 1-1 tally and a 3.95 ERA.

There are a number of solid team trends that support this elite investment. Atlanta has won seven of its last 10 in the second game of a series, 11 of its last 16 coming off a loss, 25 of its last 37 when facing a right-handed starter and six of its last seven in division play provided Teheran has the pill. On the other side of the field, Washington has fallen in nine of its last 12 at home with Fedde on the mound.

Hotlanta’s lead is down to 4.5-games over the Nationals in the NL East and they need this victory in order to grab some breathing room in the division. Take Atlanta with Teheran. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
