TOM STRYKER’S FREE COLLEGE BASKETBALL SELECTION WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 13TH
#836 FLORIDA (-) over Vanderbilt at 9 PM EST
In a really bad mood off three consecutive straight up losses to a trio of heavyweights in Kentucky, Auburn and Tennessee and a string of six straight pointspread losses, Florida will finally get back on track when Vanderbilt visits on Wednesday night. The Commodores enter this SEC battle in a funk of their own on a woeful 0-11 SU and 3-8 ATS run and things will only get worse for the ‘Dores here. Let’s take a look inside the numbers.
If the losses to the Wildcats, Tigers and Vols won’t get the Gators fired up, then the simple fact that UF holds a stunning 3-7 SU and 1-9 ATS mark in its last 10 in this series will definitely do the trick. It will certainly help that Florida has been at its financial best when coming off three or more straight up blemishes notching a respectable 22-11 SU and 20-11 ATS record. As long as the Gators are not fighting with same season single revenge, this situation jets to a magnificent 20-7 SU and 19-6 ATS including 13-2 SU and 11-2 ATS provided their opponent takes the court off a straight up loss.
This is going to be a very difficult wagering spot for Vandy. For starters, when going into revenge, the ‘Dores have really struggled posting a woeful 3-13 SU and 2-12 ATS record in their last 16 games. If Vanderbilt is facing a foe that enters off a conference battle, this situation drops all the way down to a dismal 1-10 ATS. Even worse, when running the floor against an SEC foe that checks in off two or more straight up losses, the Commodores hold a pitiful 38-57-5 ATS mark including 18-34-4 ATS in this run competing against an opponent that carries a team won/loss percentage greater than .520. With those two parameters live and the ‘Dores going into revenge, this team trend drops to a nasty 6-21-4 ATS.
Don’t write the Gators off yet. UF is coming off one of its best practices of the season and, with a pair of road wars at Alabama and LSU on deck, head coach Mike White’s kids absolutely must give their best effort here. Take Florida. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
