TOM STRYKER’S FREE NCAA BASKETBALL SELECTION SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH
#838 NOTRE DAME (-) over Georgia Tech at 6 PM EST
Yes, the Fighting Irish are struggling a bit currently on a 2-8 SU and ATS run in their last 10 games. However, off the 15-point loss at Miami and with revenge from a blemish they suffered to Georgia Tech back on January 22nd, head coach Mike Brey’s kids will respond with a solid performance on Sunday evening.
There are a handful of quality angles that support this investment. In the regular season fighting with same season single revenge, Notre Dame has played well posting a respectable 30-19-2 ATS record. Equally impressive, when hitting the hardwood off a 15-point or more straight up loss, the Fighting Irish have responded by notching a solid 16-6 SU and 13-8 ATS mark in their last 22 games. In this role competing in South Bend, UND jets to a phenomenal 10-0 SU and 7-2 ATS.
Since knocking off the Irish back in late January, the Yellow Jackets have lost four straight to Duke, North Carolina, Florida State and Clemson by an average of 17.3 points per game. Even worse, as a guest going into revenge, Georgia Tech has really struggled inking a weak 31-55-4 ATS mark in its last 90 games. In this setting facing an opponent that played on the road in their last game, the Bees slip all the way down to a pitiful 15-36-2 ATS. Finally, as a guest running with four or more days of rest and matched up against a foe that enters off a SU and ATS loss, Tech has hit rock bottom posting a soft 9-23 SU and 9-22-1 ATS mark including a nasty 3-16 SU and 2-16-1 ATS provided they played in the comforts of home last.
Offensively, the Yellow Jackets have scored 53, 54, 49 and 42 points respectively in their last four games. That’s just not going to be enough points matched up against a Fighting Irish bunch that is back home and looking to get back in the win column. Take Notre Dame. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
