College Football’s Four Is Enough

We’re at the point in college football where conference standings start to mean something.  The end of the regular season is right around the corner and champions are going to be crowned soon.

When I started doing research this week, I took a peek at those teams that were doing well in conference play.  Specifically, I grabbed those schools that had a good-egg in the loss column and sat at either 3-0 SU, 4-0 SU or 5-0 SU in the conference.  A few solid technical situations were discovered but nothing that really wet my appetite.

Out of curiosity, I flipped those records and that’s when the magic started to happen.  Winless conference teams did outstanding in certain situations.  Here is one unique system I found that worked well with college football teams that owned a dismal 0-4 SU record in conference play.  Take a look:

Since 1980, PLAY ON any college football home team that takes the field off a SU and ATS road loss provided this is their fifth conference game of the season, they are winless in conference play (0-4 SU) and their opponent arrives off the comforts of a home game.

38 Year ATS Record = 52-27-1 ATS for 65.8 percent

This Week’s Play = MINNESOTA and KANSAS

Conference games mean something to every college athlete.  When you’ve jumped out of the gate slowly against conference foes, it is only natural that you will want to respond.  Here we have a team that has dropped four straight in conference play and are back at home after a poor performance on the road.  What makes this even better is our host is catching their opponent coming off a battle in their own backyard.

There are a few special parameters that can be added to this situation that really enhance its profitability.  If our “play on” side is not priced at +37.5 or more, not off a blowout loss of 44 points or more and lined up against an opponent that arrives off a pointspread win, this college system improves to a phenomenal 29-5 ATS for 85.2 percent.  Of those two plays listed, only the Golden Gophers fit this solid situation.

Minny head coach P.J. Fleck is building something special in the Twin Cities.  Even though the Gophers roster is a young one, we’ll “row the boat” with Coach Fleck and cash this ticket.  Good luck with Minnesota on Friday!
